Nancy A. Hinkley, MSEd, CAS, – is on program teaching faculty at Cornell University’s K. Lisa Yang and Hock E. Tan Employment and Disability Institute (YTI) , housed in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations Extension Division. Ms. Hinkley joined YTI in 2005 following two decades in NYS professional practice as a secondary special educator, specializing in secondary special education instruction, program development, and school administration. She holds degrees and NYS permanent teaching certification in Special Education k-12, Elementary Education, and School District Administration. She also holds NYS permanent subject certification in Social Studies 7-12.
Her current work includes serving as Director of the NYS Education Department Transition Services Professional Development Support Center (TSPDSC), developing resource toolkits, professional development training and technical assistance to the NYS Regional Transition Specialists in effort to improve adult outcomes for students with disabilities. In addition, she provides curriculum and development consultation to Cornell University student leaders of the Centre d’Education Inclusif (CEI), an effort to connect communities and improve educational systems by creating the first fully inclusive primary school in Haiti. She recently completed six years of service as project director for NYS Partners in Policymaking, a blended online and in – person advocacy and leadership training program and graduate advocacy network for persons with developmental disabilities and their family members. Ms. Hinkley is a part –time doctoral student in Educational Theory and Practice at Binghamton University.
