Diversity Partners Employment DRRP
Diversity Partners is a combination of both facilitated and on-demand, online curriculum that was created by the Yang-Tan Institute to help professionals find better employment opportunities for people with disabilities through improved business relationships. It is geared towards job developers, employment specialists, workforce development staff and others in both the public and private sector who connect people with disabilities to jobs.
The goal is to form valuable and practical partnerships in which people with disabilities secure jobs and the needs of employers are understood and met. Diversity Partners seeks to "repair the bridge" between labor supply and demand by learning about the context, skills, and behaviors that support or hinder relationships with business, advancing the understanding of how disability can impact work and strategies that might mitigate it, and engaging agencies and personnel to create and sustain mutually beneficial employer partnerships.
The Diversity Partners intervention uses a combination of in-person training, on-line “toolkits”, and on-demand technical assistance to provide meaningful and needed information to users. Modules focused on leadership and direct service personnel have been created and are aimed at promoting and sustaining the organizational change required to improve business relationships, as well as building more cross-sector partnerships. The modules also provide the skills and inspire the confidence necessary to improve business acumen, evaluate and leverage labor market demands, and effectively serve jobseekers with disabilities.
