Outpatient Recovery Services
Overview
Outpatient Recovery Services is a system transformation project that supports 15 New York State operated psychiatric facilities to assist consumers to transition from traditional facility-run clinic services to community-based services. The goal is to line up service supports with individualized recovery plans.
By continuing to make this shift, individuals will rely less on hospital-based programs and more on community-based services, which increases the chance for better and faster mental health recovery.
The Yang-Tan Institute provides recovery-oriented, person-centered and system transformation training and technical assistance to targeted state-operated outpatient clinics.
Project Activities
The Yang-Tan Institute supports the mission of Outpatient Recovery Services through review and feedback on the required annual facility transformation project plan. This review leads to identifying facility-specific and statewide training and technical assistance needs, which are then provided. Quarterly regional meetings and an annual statewide conference are also coordinated.
